Woodlawn Villas Resort is a 3-star resort in Chalok Baan Kao, Koh Tao, with an outdoor swimming pool set among tropical gardens. The accommodation ranges from a 240 m² Family Villa with Pool View for up to eight people to a 30 m² Superior Double Room with Balcony for two. Families can also choose a 70 m² apartment with a kitchenette and bunk bed, while the 36 m² One-Bedroom Villa has a kitchenette and garden outlook. The villas and apartment-style rooms include living and dining space, air conditioning, a private bathroom, a balcony and a flat-screen TV. Kitchen-equipped options have a refrigerator, stovetop and dining table.

The main road is about 200 m away, with restaurants, convenience stores, cash machines, laundry shops, dive shops and tour agencies nearby. Free WiFi and free private parking are available, and a complimentary shuttle runs to and from Mae Haad Pier for check-in and check-out when arranged 24 hours ahead. The resort’s pool and garden setting are complemented by the beaches and water activities around Chalok Baan Kao.

The larger villa adds a pool view and indoor and outdoor dining areas; the apartment has garden views and a bunk bed, and the one-bedroom villa looks onto the garden. All four room types have a private bathroom, balcony, air conditioning and flat-screen TV. The Superior Double Room also has a seating area and does not accommodate children.

Outdoor areas include a garden, patio, balcony, terrace and sun terrace, with outdoor furniture, sun umbrellas and loungers or beach chairs. Room amenities include air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with streaming and satellite channels, and a private bathroom with a shower or bath, towels and a hairdryer. The main road is about 200 m away, with restaurants, convenience stores, cash machines, laundry shops, dive shops and tour agencies nearby. Chalok Baan Kao Beach and Shark Bay Beach are both 800 m away, while Ao Thian is 900 m away. The village has a more relaxed feel than Sairee, the island’s main strip.

Koh Tao has no airport; passenger ferries arrive at Mae Haad on the west coast. Lomprayah Koh Tao Pier is 1.4 km from Woodlawn Villas Resort, and the resort provides a free shuttle to and from the pier for check-in and check-out if you contact it 24 hours beforehand. Free private parking is available on site without reservation. Koh Tao’s centre is about 1.3 km away. Roads down to east-coast coves such as Ao Leuk are steep, so take care if travelling by scooter.

Cindy’s Tower (650 m) and Sun Suwan Viewpoint (1.1 km) are nearby viewpoints over the island’s southern landscape; Sunandra Kumariratana Shrine (1.2 km) is a local religious landmark. Ao Leuk (1 km) is a beach on the east side. Snorkelling, diving, hiking and canoeing are among the island activities, with water-sport facilities also available at the resort. The west and south coasts, including Chalok Baan Kao, are generally calmer from November to March; east-coast bays tend to be calmer from April to October.
